Hvannadalshnúkur

Iceland's highest point at 2,110 metres, Hvannadalshnúkur is the summit of Öræfajökull — Iceland's largest and most powerful stratovolcano — buried beneath the southern edge of the Vatnajökull ice cap. On a clear day, the summit commands unobstructed views across the entire South Coast and most of southern Iceland.
