Fagradalsfjall is an active volcanic area on Iceland’s Reykjanes Peninsula, located near the town of Grindavík. It erupted for the first time in 800 years in 2021, putting on a display of raw geological theatre that drew visitors from around the world to watch lava pour across the Reykjanes Peninsula in real time.
